Tiny Experiment #4: No coding on workdays

So, I failed experiments #1 and #2. Requiring reflection after reading informational media did keep me from looking at the news for about a week, but eventually I caved and the reflection piece sounded time-consuming so I just didn't do it. And reading Dead Simple Python every morning didn't last more than a few days. I did start coding every morning, but it also introduced a sort of sprint-based learning where I was trying to cram coding or learning into a small amount of time, which I don't like.

I read again this morning. It felt nice, though my mind was scattered. It does feel good to use my morning time on more passive activities. My thought with this experiment is that I'd like to only practice deep learning on days when I'm not working. Since programming needs to be a deep learning practice, this means no programming on work days.

My hypothesis, I suppose, is that I'll feel less anxious through the week and will still be successful in my learning by only studying and coding on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

I'll start with 10 days, so this experiment will end on April 27.
